Welcome to Sicklinghall Community Primary School

It gives me great pleasure to introduce Sicklinghall Community Primary School. We are a small, friendly village school, situated in an idyllic location in the village of Sicklinghall, close to the borders of North and West Yorkshire, and within two miles of the market town of Wetherby. Our school building is light and spacious and provides excellent facilities in which our children can flourish. Our premises currently include a library, an outdoor area for the Foundation Stage children, a large playing field with a ‘trim trail’, shelter and a wildlife area in addition to light and airy classrooms, equipped for learning in the 21st Century.

Our school motto is 'to achieve the best we can'. To achieve the best we can, we aspire, we are resilient, we embrace challenge, we encourage and we include. To find out more about the aims and values that guide our work and our pupils' experiences in school, click here

Although small in size we offer a BIG curriculum, including Spanish for all our children, specialist sports coaching, creative arts activities and strong cultural links both in our own region and abroad. We have a clear understanding of how children learn and continually strive to provide the best possible conditions to facilitate this.  We acknowledge that we live in a changing world and that we need to prepare our children for tomorrow’s needs. Consequently, we not only place fundamental value on the traditional 3Rs, but also on the 3Rs of the 21st century: resourcefulness (the ability to organise one’s own learning), reflectiveness (the ability to think about and evaluate one’s own learning), and resilience (the ability to try several strategies and skills in order to succeed).

We hope you find this website informative and useful. If you would like to visit the school, please do not hesitate to telephone to arrange an appointment.

Yours sincerely,

Miss Zoe Pickard               Mr G Cooper

Headteacher                      Chair of Federation Governing Board
